Pete’s strong communication skills make him an obvious choice for the keeper of our office suggestion box. When he’s not doing the administrative work related to that, he’s planning and implementing communications strategies to highlight our events and programs, and helping to tell the story of how they serve our nonprofit mission of creating active living opportunities for people in all corners of the Richmond region. Like any good Hokie, on the weekends he enjoys watching Virginia Tech football, taking in a game of soccer, going on a morning run, and spending the day exploring RVA with his wife, son, and daughter. Perhaps his proudest accomplishment is helping to start a co-ed pick-up beach volleyball league: Top Gun Beach Volleyball, which will be entering its second season in the summer of 2018.
Any Pets: “A dog named Dempsey. She has her own Instagram account and likes to eat socks.”
Song you’re embarrassed to love: “I celebrate the entire ‘1989’ album by Taylor Swift and am not that embarrassed by it, to be honest with you.”
Favorite Sports Backers Event: “Before I worked for Sports Backers, the two I always enjoyed participating in the most were the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k and Dominion Energy Riverrock.”
Favorite place to be outside in Richmond: “I like any of the trails around town, and I also really enjoy the green space behind the VMFA.”
